So, for many new players or even the veterans/older players who don't understand things now, this will apply. I'm just going to communicate about how it is that we dish out punishments on the network and the reasoning behind how we do it.
If you ever noticed, no one is ever muted. This is due to the fact that we have a global chat system for server wide chat, and private messages. We can't prevent people from sending private messages and using the global chat when muted, so we took muting off the table as a punishment. This was replaced by temp-bans. How we go about the times on temp-bans depends on the rules that were broken and severity. Example: harassing a user in chat repetitively - this can get you temp-banned. However, depending on what is said the ban may be longer than other players who are banned for similar reasons. This then brings us to what happens after you get a few temp-bans; after three temp-bans it is likely that you will be perm-banned next time you are punished. It is not a 100% chance every time, but if you constantly keep earning temp-bans or get an excessive amount of temp-bans on your record, you will be perm-banned. Then it's up to you to either appeal or ignore it and do nothing about it.
Warnings can and will be give in chat and/or to the players ban profile. Every player, as well as the general public, may view any/their ban profile from the forums page.
Comments are just notes for the rest of the staff to keep in mind. I hope this helps some people understand as to some of the reasoning behind what we, as a staff body, do for punishments.
